How do I create persistent routes in 9x? I know in NT, 2K, etc I simply use the -p switch with the route command, but that doesn't work with 9x. I need to be able to add a route to the routing table before the user logs on.

Thanks,
Mick

Hi
Create a batch file that runs at start-up. You have to add the route each time you reboot. 9X does not have the ability to keep the route presistent. Hope this Helps

I've tried that, but I cannot figure out to run the batch file, with the route command, before the drive mappings begin. It's necessary that the route be added before drives are mapped.

I've added net use commands to the batch file to map the drives after the route is added, but this causes admin nightmares for the help desk as users do not know how to use the command window for tasks such as changing passwords.

Any ideas?

It sounds to me if you are using the batch file with your log-in script.

Go to the workstation and add it into the autoexec.bat file.

When your login script run the route is already added.

Hope this Helps
