Permanent Error 503

Error transferring to elgin.MANTANK.COM; SMTP Protocol Returned a Permanent Error 503 Rejected by final destination

I receive this errorfrom my Lotus Notes SMTP server.
Anything will help. I have tried to stopping Pipeling and I still get this error.
This is annoying. The user was able to send to this address before.

Did you check to make sure your DNS entries for YOUR server are in order, and that you're not on any blacklists?

Generally speaking, here's what a 503 ESMTP error means:

"503 Server encountered bad sequence of commands
Indicates (probable) that your ISP mail server did not recognized a command sent that is erroneous. Some temporary event prevents the successful sending of the message or an intermittent drop in network line connection that caused your mail client to send erroneous command and sending in the future may be successful."

This isn't always reliable, because lots of people stray from the RFC in their interpretation of error code handling.

Where can I find Blacklists?

I have done some reading on the RFC821 stuff which does not really help me.

A good place to start is

Spam database lookup is center column at the top. Punch in the IP address of your SMTP server.

Well, Ifound out that the site was thinking we were Spam. All is fixed now. Thank you for all your tips. I was able to get alot of information out of this little problem.
