I also posted this in one of the Crystal Reports forums, but I thought it might be a more basic btrieve question so I'm posting it here too.

I'm trying to write some reports on Peachtree data. I've used CR for several years, mostly on Accpac data, which is also btrieve. It was already set up for me though, so I'm kind of lost trying to set this one up myself.

The problem I'm having, is when I open the file.ddf, it only has one table called "file" and one field called "field1".

If I look at "all files" in the folder, I can see .dat files, but if I select one of them I get the same one table one field1.

If I put that "field1" on a report and run it I get the error "IDAPI Error: Capability not supported".

I'm using CR professional, 8.5.0.217, in a terminal window on a Win2000 server (my PC is XP) and there is data on a server locally and at an other location- I get the same problem with both.

Am I missing something obvious?

Thank you

If it's that you want to inspect the ddfs to see what's in there - take a look at btsearch that will give you a definitive answer as to what is defined in the ddf.

If you da a search in this forum you should find a web site or something that will direct you to the app.

Thank you. I downloaded btsearch, I haven't fixed the problem yet, but at least I think I'm getting somewhere.
