I am backing up information from 3 servers onto a dedicated backup server using Backup Exec. It has been going smoothly, however it has since been troubling. The backup process is perfect...as indicated by the number of bytes being recorded under Job Monitor. I cannot, however, restore anything. When first opening Backup Exec I get the error message "Password database error. Open failed." Therefore, when I try to restore anything nothing seems to appear. I can, however, pick and choose all servers for backup...kind of strange.

My question: is there a way to eliminate the password database or to change it?

I really would appreciate all your help.

Had same situation that was resolved by logging out of the machine and then back in. The account that we were logged into the machine (which was the same as the account used by backup exec) had its password changed. We updated the password for Backup Exec in the Services applet, logged out and back into NT, and all was well.
