Passwd File Problems

I have a question for all your Unix Gurus out there. We are running an hp-ux 10.2 server and sometimes we run a password update across our server some of our users end up with usernames in the password file of "Ody". In turn this somehow blows away their netscape username from their preferences.js file and defaults to their unix username of Ody.

Has anyone seen this problem before or is it an isolated problem?
