Passing CPND to a trunk

We have an Asterisk server set up to do some SIP testing. We access this server by dialling 8-1-747-xxx-xxxx. Server is actually a trunk group connected via a local T-1. We recently decided to use the Asterisk server to identify lines - we have students who continually remove face plate tags and then don't know what number the extension is. Obviously, they can call anyone on campus who has a display phone, however, this is bothersome and typically happens at 3:00 AM!

The Asterisk server nicely reads back the calling number. Only problem is, if the number is an on-campus only (non DID) we ship it off with the main listed number - not the actual extension. We have a 4 digit phantom set up to dial the 8-1-747-xxx-xxxx number so its easy to get to.

Anyone have any idea on how to program the PBX to send just the actual four digit extension to that specific trunk group?

Thanks,
Dave Bopp

with the route marked internal, if it's a pri, the set will show the 4 digit dn instead of the clid.. we have several sites with opt 11's.. they see name and dn from the same set that shows clid to external routes.. if you need a copy of my pri to one of those sites, let me know and i'll post it tomorrow

Would love to see your config.

Tks a bunch,

I, too, have a similar issue. Even though our route is marked internal our Asterisk PBX only sees the 10-digit CLID value associated with the DN. I'm anxious to hear if you can successfully make the DN appear on the Asterisk box.

Just curious, are you set up as TIE or DID?

The problem is you are using the CLID to get the called number.

If you setup a CLID table with DIDN= yes but nothing else assigned, you will send out the DN only with that CLID assignment.

Problem is this will affect all calls from that DN, not just the ones to the Asterisk box.

might be a dch rcap entry that you are missing, i am sending name and dn (internal0 to my pri routes. i can post the dch from work tomorrow

We thought about setting up a blank CLID entry, but we also realized it would affect dialing out to the PSTN as well so the idea was abandoned.

johnpoole - can you post your dch config? It would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Greg

Did anyone get this working? I've tried changing the rcap and the net_data entries and still had no success.

I was told it could be done with a NI2 TIE config, but our M1 won't let us configure a NI2 TIE line; it has to be NI2 DID. I wish johnpoole would post his config... :)
