Partner R8 problem. When call comes in 2 lines ring 1

Help!!!

My back ground-- I am a network admin with some novice phone skills. I volunteered to install a Partner R8.0 for a non profit organization. I have worked on a couple of other older Partners but never had this issue.

System info - Partner R8.0 has a 012E card and Partner Messaging with the 2 port Card. I has 5 lines coming into it and all the extension ports on both cards are full.

When you call any of the incoming lines both the line you are calling and the next one both ring. After one ring it intercoms extension 10.

I have reset the system by pulling out the battery and turning it off and on. I am thinking it is defective. The place I bought it from is not open on the weekend and I need to start programing it. But don't want to if it is defective.

Pull the Messaging out and try again. If that is the cause of the problem, post back for more programming help.
