Paramter Query Prompts Repeatedly

I have paramter query based on two tables, one local and one linked (Oracle). When I execute the query, I get prompted to enter the paramater repeatedly... in fact the query never executes, I just get frustrated and do a Ctrl-Break.
Has anyone encountered this kind of behavior before?

When I went to the query properties in design view and right-clicked, there was some text in the Order By property.
When I removed it I was only prompted once to enter in my paramter and the query ran properly.
