I am new to flash but getting annoyed with the user interface. It really sucks.

As an experienced programmer I find it very frustrating to find that some code I have just typed gets attached to an object on stage and not in the timeline.

Why does the window I want the code in keep changing ? And how do I stop it from doing so ?

Or is this just a feature of this designers program ?

You have 3 different actions windows. Frame (timeline), button, & movie clip. Just check the window's title before typing anything in it!

top right of the actions panel is a small pin like icon....click that with timeline selected and all code will go into the timeline no matter where you go in the movie

Many thanks, billwatson.

That works, but why can I not find that fix in the Flash documentation.

I still say the program sucks for developers.

Visited your site as re earlier post and it its obvious that you are an old VB developer.
