I have not made any changes on my Exchange server. We have one user who works in different locations on the network. he called me yesterday and said he is having problems getting on the e-mail through the browser. When He would put in the URL, the 2 boxes appeared, He would put his password in then, it would take a while but his e-mail would show up, as the day went on, He couldn't do anything. I rebooted the exchange server and it started working again. This morning it did the same thing. The OWA isn't working at all. I rebooted exchange and now it is working. I looked through even view and see nothing in there. Could someone help me out.

Next time it happens, don't reboot the server. That's probably overkill. Instead, drop to a cmd prompt and type 'iisreset' and hit enter. Let's see if that works.

I tried this 58sniper, and I get an error that it takes to long to stop the service, then I tried 5 minutes later, and I got a message about not be able to start services. Last Thursday I talked to the user, who is having this problem, and He said in the morning everything is fine, and in the early after noon, then OWA stops working. We have a small staff, so it isn't the band with issue. I also ran a few bandwith performance test, and exchange performance test, all were in good ranges.I downloaded the MS Exchange Best Practice Analyzer Tool. I had to made some changes as the tool required, like shorting the size of the incoming and out going messages I made a couple of registry changes, and I rebooted my Firewall, and my router, and of course the Server. Everything came up, with no problems and the OWA was working fine. This was last Thursday. Today around noon OWA went down again, and this is when I tried the iisreset on the cmd. I later rebooted the Exchange server and the OWA is coming up but very slow. Do you have a clue, to what the problem is?

Is he accessing this mailbox from an internal (closed) network, or over the Internet?

He is accessing it on the internal network, but has had the same problem when he is outside out network. It seems in the morning He is fine, but in the afternoon it works very erratic.

Is he the only one accessing OWA? If not, is he the only one having/reporting the problem?

I'd start ratcheting up some perfmon settings to see what's going on.

I have tried and I'm having the same problem. When I log onto the Exchange server it is very slow, this is right after I have rebooted.

I'm testing my e-mail and now my work e-mail going to my hotmail is going very slow. Its been 10 minutes, and I have not received either e-mail

Thanks for all that helped me, with the problem. I ended up calling Microsoft. I had some spam issues going in. Does anyone know of a good spam filter product, that isn't very expensive. Thanks
