When we drag an email message from one public folder to another public folder, it copies the message rather than moves the message. Is this by design or is it a setting?
We can right click and move the message fine, but were just wondering about the typical drag and drop.

Thanks!

Usually, if files are in different partitions or drives, they will be copied. If they are in the same partition/drive they will be moved.

It must be by design. I have done this before, and accidentally copied the objects. I have learned to select them and do a right click and move. It's a pain especially when you are a drag and dropper like I am.

Try Right-click drag and drop. It gives you the option to move when you let loose.

Just like in windows explorer....
If a + is shown while dragging, it'll to a copy
If not, it'll do a move.

hold down ctrl to force a copy
hold down shift to force a move

no more pain for drag and droppers!
