I have the following 3 problems with Outlook XP running on Windows 2000 Pro. 1)If you try to do a import/export, all you get is the following error: "internal translation error". 2)If you try to recover deleted items is says: "the add-in "dumpster.dll" could not be installed or loaded". 3)If trying to send the current file as an email from within Word or Excel, get "The Object could not be found. General mail failure. Quit Microsoft Excel, restart the mail system, and try again." All errors started after installing the .NET framework. Uninstalled & reinstalled office with no effect.

Hope someone can help!

slander92,
with Outlook XP running on Windows 2000 Pro
I am reading this as the OS is W2KPro and the OL version is XP.

As there were and are many differences between these systems you maost likely are experiencing some conflicts in the dll lib versions.

OL is generally bundled with Office and you did not state what ver of Office that you are using. I recall a Office XP release to address specific Items in XP but would have thought that MS would have included backward compatibility but not sure.

If you still have Office 2000 or the like, I would attempt to un-install what you have and install a possibly more compatible version to check if that corrects the problems. If requested to replace a file with an older ver accept this to insure that you are armed with ver's that are compatible.

For a view (You can check your ver's)of some updated files see:

Hope This Helps You Clear this Up
