outlook attachment error

when an attachement, sent from outside of the company through there exchange 5.5 server to oulook 2000 or 97, is double clicked on to open the error "operation failed" appears, when the user atempts to save the attachment nothing happens. would anyone have any thoughts on this?

1) Ask them to resend the email and attachment.

2) Try the Microsoft Exchange or Microsoft Office forums.
