hi sbcsu

thank for your reply

what different the DC5A and AC15 ?

The audio quality of these protocols was never great due to compression etc.
I would use ISDN or SIP if possible.

Is AC15 newer? I wasn't sure. But it's definitely obsolete. You may find working E&Ms still, if you look hard enough.

AC15 on a Hicom 300 was provided by the TMSVF card, you can't use the same card as for an E&M (TMEW2) although you can convert E&M to AC15 with third party convertors. TMSVF card itself is long gone, you can't buy it or add it in software. I remember working on once once, AC15s had the 2280Hz tone-on-idle, you had to butt in to listen for the tone.

The 4K is sold around the world and supports many variations of E&M. So you also need to be familiar with the wiring, (E&M pair, TX pair, RX pair), and the configuration of PTIME, because PTIME block (CIRCIDX in TACSU) controls the soft switch settings, Type I, II, V etc, supervision, timers, impedance. PTIME example in TACSU above is 2, but you'd need the PTIME output from that 4K to know what that meant. You also need the right TACSU config for delay start, wink start, or immediate start to match the partner node.

There are a lot of options. If you don't have the documentation, I'd be asking if they supported SIP!

Indeed you could put the butt set on the 2nd pair to hear the tone then you knew you were going in the right direction.
Most of those DC5 or AC15 lines were narrow bandwidth stuck on to the end of a Cisco.
We used to use ROLI converters - Ring Out Line In

We have a few Alcatel-Lucent systems. but none with analog tie lines. Years ago there were different db level settings, such as +7, -16 or 0 loss. I wonder if those would even be options in current software.

30+ years ago we were always calling telco for troubles with ties, being that there were 6 wires for each. Don't know if this installation will be with both systems at the same site, but as stated above wiring will need to be specific - reverse E & M and the transmit & receive pairs.
