I have a 61c release 25.40, one of the NT5D61AA died (hardrive)the switch is currently running on one CPU. Can the other CPU be replaced by just installing new one and changing the security dongle?

The "Large System Maintenance" book has the step-by-step procedure for replacing that.

The lowdown is you will need to load the S/W onto the replacement IODU/C. You will need the install disk, S/W CD, keycode disk, and database backup disk (unless you copy the database from the other IODU/C). Once it is loaded bring the cores together and SYNC it.

Be sure you also burn the CP rom and IOP rom when installing the software. You never know what is on the card you will get as a replacement.

put the active cpu in maint. disable the cni on the standby side.. now you can replace dongle and the NT5D61AA, connect to j25, with the install disk in the door, press the ini and hold, drop the maint switch and then rls the ini.. you will boot into an install menu.. option e lets you burn both eproms and then restore the cdb from the running cmdu.. once you finish, let it boot.. (the last step).. make all switched normal and press both ini's.. she will come up full redundant..

that is in the doc's book 3 of 5 eng manuals..
