I just created a symbolic link from my domain directory and I can see html files from the link I created but when I open a php file from the link I get:

-------
Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in Unknown on line 0
-------

Any help would be very much appreciate,
Rico

Whoever is running your server set up PHP so that scripts cannot access files unless those files are in a certain set of directories.

The open-basedir directive is documented here.

If you run a script which invokes phpinfo(), the return of that function will tell you what the actual setting for open_basedir is. then make sure all of the files you need to open are in that directory or one of its subdirectories.
