I am working with Mambo CMS from Mamboserver.com but I get an error on the installation:
Warning: open_basedir restriction in effect. File is in wrong directory in vol1:/Intranet/installation/index.php on line 10

The global php.ini file reads:

Directive: open_basedir
Local Value: .;sys:/tmp
Master Value: .;sys:/tmp

I have a localized php.ini file with the open_basedir setting commented out but the values from the global php.ini file seem to be overriding the localized php.ini file.

I would prefer not to tweak the master php.ini file. Is there another way that I can correct this for this specific directory?

Hi Jim,

I'm afraid Mambo doesn't like those multiple semicolon seperated path definitions. I also had the problem with session.save_path.

Why don't you just try it with an independant secondary LAMP or XAMP/XAMPLite installation? See
Bye, Olaf.

Thanks -- I am developing the system on friendlier W-AMP and OSX-AMP systems but the production server that I am stuck with is on Novell. It is an ugly situation.
