Open thumbnail image

I am preparing an index page with 70 items, I would like to open a small thumbnail image (100x100approx)on mouseover of the title of each item text to close on mouse out. I do not want to open a seperate browser window as this is messey, but more a swap image restore effect. If this involves javascript I am a complete novice in that direction so simple instructions would be appreciated!
