Odd problem

Here's an odd one. A user came to me to ask about a problem she encountered a moment ago. While typing a message, she keyed in a word, which changed to another word as she was keying.
Example:
this is what she keyed-
"I hope you're"

When she keyed you' the line changed to I Sunday. I was able to duplicate this problem. It seemed to happen when the word "hope" was typed first. She said that she saw the same behavior yesterday but didn't catch what she was typing or what it changed to.

Any ideas on that one?

Have you tried turning off auto-correct? Maybe it's gone completely bonkers. Jennifer Sigman

I'll give it a try.

Open and create a new mail message.

Choose TOOLS / QUICKCORRECT

At the bootom of the box that appears, uncheck the option for "Replace Words As You Type"

Good Luck!

To fix this problem: Copy the appropriate WT61xx.UWL (substitute the language code for xx, i.e. WT61US.UWL for US English) file from a workstation that does not have the problem.

The User Word List is stored in the WT61xx.UWL file. This file is typically in the C:\WINDOWS directory.

The WT61xx.UWL file stores entries for both the Spell Checker and the QuickCorrect features.

You need to disable the "Show Phonetic Suggestions" option in Spell Check > Customize button, at the bottom of the list, uncheck show phonetic suggestions

I'll try those suggestions.
