A friend sent me this. A couple of them made me smile, so I thought I'd share.

Therefore knee in groin = 2 bad teeth?

Talking of the family Joules:

In the league of imprecise measurements, calories and BTU, must figure quite prominently, since their value by definition varies with the temperature at which the measurement takes place.

The calorie also is equal to one, or 1000 calories depending which sort of professional uses it.

Watt is the use of energy unless it is applied over time to power something?

If there weren't enough ways to measure energy transferred or power, Refrigeration engineers devised a unit of cooling - the Ton - the power required to melt one short ton of ice in 24 hours - unlike the BTU or calorie, this would be reproducible, since the temperature is maintained at 0 deg Celsius (approximately).

These units may all be converted to Horsepower.

And then there are:
[ul][li]The butcher of 2000 pounds of fish (or any other animal) = 1 killaton.[/li]
[li]Infusion of 2 Hydrogen atoms into a chicken egg = H[sub]2[/sub]Ovum.[/li]

[li]S : / (arc of spectral refraction of H[sub]2[/sub]O) = Sum where over the rainbow.[/li][li]3 valets in a men's room = 3 loo-men.[/li]

[li]Present value of 1 amphere * 1 volt ! = Watt Now ![/li]
[li]1 Indiana-born male parental unit = Hoosier Daddy[/li][/ul]

yep, in the 'unterhosen'... ;-)

Stella470pl,

like this one: Circumference of an apple/diameter of an apple = Apple Pie

now to go along the lines: 2 apples in a mixer = apple strudel (or sauce which ever is preferred)...

Santa,

funny as usual, #3 is my favorite there...

Yes I agree about the wine but I enjoyed the dark beer better.

In 1966 I was just finishing a 3 1/2 year visit at Wasserkuppe a small radar site in the mountains about 100 km NE of Frankfort and about 150 km W of the Czech Republic.

That looks excellent, the southern Germans make great beer. I'll look to see if it's sold in the U.S.
