I have a report that shows department codes. Our departments are numbered 1-12. When it runs the report, it shows all the department codes, but they are ordered: 1,10,11,12,2,3..... How do I get it to show them in the proper order: 1,2,3,4,5....

Thanks

Set the sorting and grouping to
=Val([DepartmentCode])

Hi all,

I'm sure this is a quite easy "fix", but for the life of me I can't find the answer!

I simply need an incrementing number to the left of every row of data - 1, 2, 3 etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks

B.M.

dhookom, just realized I never thanked you. That's exactly what I needed. Thanks so much. Worked great!

If you are trying to put this counter in your report

Insert a new text box in the detail section of the report go to properties by right cliking and put =1 under control source, under runing sum select over group

Good luck

J
