NSS Volumes and Arcserve9 Backup very slow

AS9 Backups are very slow locally and over the network when backing up Netware NSS volumes. Does anybody else have same problem? Trad volumes working fine.

hi, did you modify your sys/etc/host ?
which version of netware/SP is it?

No modifications to sys/etc/host. Netware 6 sp3

you have to modify you host file (with all IP address of backup servers) and it is recommended that you arcserve server have a replica of root (personnaly i just have the container where all my servers are)..
we have the same problem but with traditional volume
did you activate NSS compression??

No compression. I dont quite understand connection between host tables and backup ? I also discovered that if i make arcserve disk copy from NSS to Trad volume (they are in same raid package) troughput is even slower than tape backup??? It seems that something needs to be fixed in Arcserve9 .

Try performing a test copy on a workstation copying some data from an NSS volume to a trad volume. See how fast it goes then?

5 Gig Netware copy from NSS to trad took over 20 mins, something is wrong ???
