in nortel world there is a mov cmd anything in nec ? tks

Which NEC system? The key systems and the IPS system with MatWorX can do it. The 2400 cannot without using the MA-4000 maintenance tool. That's a pricy Administration server.

not wanting to ask a silly question but wouldn't it help if you told us what the mov command does on the nortel?

on a nortel you can move an ext/tn to a new tn with the move cmd. i had a customer that did a ton of phn moves set her up so all she needed to do was do the mov cmd and plug the phn in.

I work on Nortel and NEC and the mov command is a nice command and works great but the NEC product is a much more stable PBX than Nortel. I have never had software corruption on a NEC and Nortel is known for PEPS and corruptions...

Just a note, the 1000/2000/8300 ranges can do this using a feature called set relocation and it can be set up as a user feature. Similar to the alcatel!
