I need a quick overview of how to setup a Call Pilot 150 with a small Norstar system.

The customer wants a single general mailbox that all unanswered calls go to. They don't want individual mailboxes or any kind of Auto Attendant functionality - just a simple "Answering Machine" mode.

Is there a quick and easy way I can provision this?

Thanks!

It would be simpler to get an answering machine off of an analog port that you would be set for delayed ring.

Thanks for your suggestion, but I'm sure the customer is looking for a litle more robust solution.

I read the documentation, experimented and found a simple solution:

On the Call Pilot:

1) Disable Call Pilot Auto Attendant (if enabled);

2) Create and Initialize a mailbox;

3) Assign the mailbox to a phone that rings on incoming calls;

In the Norstar programming:

4) Go to Terminals&Sets -> Show Set (the phone with inbound ringing above) -> Show -> Next;

5) At Capabilities, -> Show -> Next to get to "Fwd no answer";

6) Change Fwd no answer to point to the VM port;

7) Select the number of rings and save the configuration.

If multiple sets ring on incoming and those sets have Fwd no answer activated, it looks like the lowest numbered station will be the one to forward the call.

Thanks!
