No voice on loop 8

We have a CS1000 rls 7 with loop 0, 4 and 8. In loop 8 the MGC card displays the loop number and it seems to be working but when we program a tn for a digital set the phone comes up but we are unable to hear dial tone and cannot dial any extensions or outside numbers. We tried a different cabinet but the same issue. Could this be a bad MGC card? Any assistance will be appreciated.

Do you have DSP resources assigned to that card as well as TDS and Conf loops?

The dial tone for a digital set comes from the TDS, You have to define a TDS loop for each media gateway.

I built the TDS loop and Conf loop and enabled them. I now get dial tone but when I try to dial internal or external I get a fast busy.

Do you have the DSP daughterboards on your MGC Card? You need at least 1 32 port in the low density slot.

Yes the daughter board is installed. What load do I program the DSP

Do this in element manager.

go into the Media Gateway and you can define the 32port DB. After you save, you can click the radio button from the Main Media Gateway screen, then in the drop down box, select VGW Channels..or something like that. Then it will take you to another screen to add the channels.
