No Sound.... Ive tried new drivers and nothing seems to work. everything seems fine, but there isnt any sound.

Did you ever have sound?

Is the onboard sound adapter enabled in BIOS, and are there any problems or conflicts with it in Device Manager?

Is the sound adapter's volume properly configured, and nothing is muted?

Did you try reducing the sound adapter's acceleration?

Are the speakers correctly and securely connected, and is their volume properly adjusted?

Did you try your speakers on another system, or different speakers on your system?

Did you try installing a cheap sound card?

-Its enabled and there isnt any conflicts

-Thats what im probally gonna end up doing, but i still would like to know the problem.

Are these spealers amplified, and is the speaker power indicater lit? Are the speakers plugged into the correct jack (modems often have a speaker jack also)? What does it say on the back of the computer on the different speaker jacks? What colors? Do you have front panel speaker jacks also? Sometimes you can't use both front and back.

Also, see if reducing the sound adapter's acceleration helps.

If not, then check your speakers on another system.

If they work there, then uninstall and reinstall the MB's chipset drivers.

If no luck, then see if updated chipset drivers are available from either the computer manuf.'s site. or from the MB manuf's site.


If still no luck, then d/l the latest version of DirectX.

If nothing works, then borrow and install a sound card.
