Hello,

I have been trying to setup a trunk group nigh service in a S8400 with PRI. I created an announcement, configured the button in the console and configured the nigh service field in the trunk group (PRI), but... doesn't work... what am I missing?

Thanks in advance!

Is it a Listed Directory Number that you are trying to point to voice mail?

Kevin

Kevin,

I got some documentation from Avaya and the instructions to set up a night service, the thing is... I don't see any night destination field... all fields are the same in the listed directory number, that is why I was thinking on configurin a trunk group night service.

To set up night station service:

1. Type change listed-directory-numbers and press RETURN. The Listed Directory Number screen appears.

2. Enter 1234 in the Night Destination field. The destination can be an extension, a recorded announcement extension, a vector directory number, or a hunt group extension.

3. Press ENTER to save your changes.

4. Type change console-parameters and press RETURN.

The Console Parameters screen appears.

5. In the DID-LDN Only to LDN Night Extension field, type n.

6. Press ENTER to save your changes.

Please advise!

Thanks!

Code:
change inc-call-handling-trmt trunk-group 1 Page 1 of 30
                       INCOMING CALL HANDLING TREATMENT

Thanks for the reply. the number in the caller number field is the main number in the trunk?... in the instructions from avaya, 1234 is the night service station... so, why is it in Insert and not in night service?... sorry to bother you with this... I am confuse.

Thanks again!

This is the option I am trying to use.. am I wrong?.. I got the information from Avaya but when the operator press the button for night service.. nothing happen.

Setting up trunk group night service

You can use trunk group night service if you want to direct individual trunk groups to night service. The system redirects calls to the trunk group to the group's night service destination. Trunk group night service overrides attendant controlled night service. For example, let's say you administer trunk group night service, and then your attendant activates night station service. In this case, calls to the trunk group use the trunk night service destination, rather than the station night service destination.

Let's direct night calls for trunk group 2 to extension 1245.

To set trunk group night service:

1. Type change trunk-group 2 and press RETURN.

The Trunk Group screen appears.

2. Enter 1245 in the Night Service field.

The destination can be a night service extension, a recorded announcement extension, a vector directory number, a hunt group extension, a terminating extension group, or attd if you want to direct the call to the attendant.
3. Press ENTER to save your changes.

Example 1 800 223 4567 sends DNIS digits 4567
4567 does not fit the dialplan so you program the trunk-group incoming call handling to delete 4 digits and insert the redirected to digits of 1234.

To activate night service for the trunk-group, add a "trunk-ns" button on a phone for trunk-group 1, and when it is activated, calls to the 800 number will route to 2345.

Ok, so... I tried.. but when I call from a cell phone to test.. there is a noise and a message saying... error in connection... this is what I have..

the last four digits of the main number are 5444 the extension for the attendant is 4321 and the announcement is in extension 1705.. so I configured that the way it's in your example but didnt' work... but of course... I am probably doing something wron.

Really sorry to bother with this.

Do I need to configure something in the trunk itself and the console parameters?

Thanks!

Try 'change listed-directory-numbers' to include the main listed number. Then do 'change console-parameters' and define the night service destination.

Kevin

When I do change console-parameters the night service destination option is disable... do that mean some feature in my system may be off?

Thanks!

I was finally able to make it to work the way AvayaTier3 suggested.

Thanks to all of you!

Hello!

The night service is working just wonderfuly using the option:

change inc-call-handling-trmt trunk-group X

the thing is.. it works for the outside calls... is there a way to make the night service to work when people dial the '0' to call the operator and the night service is active?... currently, if the night service is active.. it works perfect for people that call from the world.. but if someone inside dial '0' it just ring and ring

Thanks in advance!

If a console type night-only exists, the calls will go to the night-only console

dial zero calls will follow night station service if there is no night-only
console and the following programming is done.

Code:
display console-parameters Page 1 of 4
                              CONSOLE PARAMETERS

                          Night Destination: 2999

        Ext Name TN

Hello,

I am working in another system with similar issues... The night service is working.. it's configured in listed-directory-number and it works perfect during the night. The problem is, sometimes the operator needs to walk away from the console then she would like to have a option such as 'night service' but during the day... a 'day service'?.. so it can send calls to another two extensions probably using a hunt group or so... any idea?, is it possible to set up a 'day service' in addition to 'night service'?

Thanks in advance!!!!

Hello,

I have it resolved... :).. thanks guy!!

I am trying to set up a similar situation but my ultimate question is when I go to "ch listed directory numbers", there is no night service option. I have only the number, description, and tenant fields. What am I missing here?

Thanks in advance!!

Hello randythomas

My system do not has the night service option in "listed directory number" I configured it using"ch inc-call-handling-trmt trunk x" option and then adding the night service in the tenant settings.
