A few days ago, I installed the new version of Windows 7 that was just released. Ever since then the NIC drivers on my Dell Desktop stopping working everytime I reboot and I have to reinstall them. I figured that Windows 7 was the cause of this so I re-installed my old OS (Vista Ultimate). However I am noticing that the NIC drivers are STILL failing. Can anyone help me out with this?

Check BIOS,see if theres an update. But, define 'Drivers are failing'...what exactly is happening, what messages are you getting?

What I mean is after I install the OS. My NIC card suddenly loses connectivity and I have to reinstall the drivers. I know my internet connection is good becasue I have a laptop that I connect with just fine. And there no no errors I just lose connectivity and dont get it back until I reinstall the drivers.

What happens when you remove the NIC from device manager and then scan for changes or reboot?
Also, what kind of desktop?

Q: When you mention NIC, do you mean the cabled or the wireless NIC?

Here are a few things to consider:

Wired:

Why does my network connection drop every so often?

Wireless:

Zyxel 660HW-61 NIC connection drops out

How to ask a question, when posting them to a professional forum.

1.) I havent tried to remove the NIC card yet. I didint really bother with that becasue my desktop worked fine for months up until I installed WIndows 7.

2.) Wired and its a DEll Hybrid Desktop
