Newbie: Web Hosting

Hello,
I am a beginner at Crystal Reports. I would like to publish reports to the web using web hosting company. Can someone give me advice such as can it be done and does the provider need the software, can you use a connection string to connect to db, etc. I would like login/password information to access reports.

Any useful information would be helpful. My main concern is not using my own local server but a web hosting company.
