Newbie - how to count specific records

Using CR 4.0 (yeah, really old stuff) anyway what I am attempting to do is have a count of items entered in the past 7 days. The formula I have come up with isn't working.

Count ([{bugs.creation} in Today -7 to Today])

I have tried the last7days function without sucess. The values in the bugs.creation are dates.....

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

That's such an old version, I don't even remember the exact methodology.

The formula might be:

if {bugs.creation} in [Today -7 to Today] then
1
else
0

Now a formula against it would be:

sum((@MyFormula})
