We are using networker version 5.5.1 to back up various COMPAQ servers running NT4 SP6 and are getting a strange symptom.
When you select the Backup option and choose the registry only the profile directories are available for backup none of the actual registry files are shown any more ie. SAM SECURITY DEFAULT SYSTEM SECURITY. Also on some machines the repair disk information is no longer there to back up.
These files used to back up fine but on some machines they are no longer there to select for backup. We have been comparing this to machines that are backing up the registry correctly and cannot find anything that would cause this. We have tried reinstalling networker, re-service packing the machines, running the services as different admin users eg. Local Admin, Network Admin etc.
We have eliminated the backup server itself (which is a UNIX machine running HP-UX) by connecting to a different backup server (running NT) and still get the same problem so it must be client based.
Our suppliers cannot find a solution to this and we have searched the legato site for info with no success.
Has anybody come across this problem before?
or can anybody suggest a possible cause/solution?
any help would be much appreciated.
