I have had NIS 2005 w/Antispyware installed on my HP notebook for the past several months. NIS has worked fine with no problems. Unexpectedly last week, I lose connectivity to all of my mapped drives. Interestingly, if I navigate to a network path via the host name [blue](\\server\share)[/blue], I have no connectivity. However, if I navigate to the same path via the ip address [blue](\\nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn\share)[/blue], I have complete access.

After much investigation and nashing of teeth, I have discovered that NIS is the apparent culprit. If I uninstall NIS, the problem disappears. When I re-install NIS, the problem returns. Disabling NIS has no effect.

I am to the point of throwing NIS out the windows and going with some other product. Can anyone help. Thanks in advance.
