We have an MS exchange server. ALL mail clients are running Outlook 2000. We have the users outlook setup to use Personal Folders as their primary delivery box. The issue is that messages are either not going from the exchange mailbox to the local personal folders mailbox OR in some cases it takes FOREVER!! to download to the personal folder.
Is ther a way to edit the registery to set the recieve time to check every minute? James Collins

Is this Internal mail or mail coming from the outside through the Internet????

How long does it take to send a mesage to yourself????

Its all mail. When it hits the server it is not sent to the personal folders on the users local drive. It hangs on the server. The user has to hit send and rev=cieve to bring it over. Now this happens on only a few PC's (mainly the ones we just rotated)

Any Ideas. James Collins

Any particular reason you're using personal folders? To have your clients get things real-time, configure outlook to use Microsoft Exchange Server. Do you have it as Internet E-mail right now? If you go to tools, services, do you have the option to add Microsoft Exchange Server? Marc Creviere

In our business we have an exchange server all running outlook 2K as the mail client. We are a BRANCH office. We use personal folder because the company only allows for a 10meg mailbox. Since we have so many amails on a daily basis, a 10 meg mailbox fills up quickly. We use the personal folders on the users local drive to get past this problem. The issue was never a problem until we started rotating PC's. Now the mailbox inbox and personal folders do not sync up at all. All mail stays in the mailbox untli the send and recieve button is hit. then it comes down to the personal inbox. Any reason why this just started? James Collins

You could set up your users to use the exchange server normally. Then set up a rule in Outlook2000 to move the incomming messages to a personal folder when they come in. That way your mailbox never has anything in it unless Outlook isn't running.

That could be done, yes. My origional issue was that mail WAS being forwarded before we rotated. After the PC rotation the mail was no longer forwarded. James Collins

Clicking Send/Receive to receive email into your personal folder sounds like you have Internet mail (POP) configured rather than Exchange Server Service.

Internet mail service will only check at specified intervals OR when you click send/receive.

Also, MS says you shouldn't have Internet Mail and Exchange Server in the same profile. MS Q245446

What's your connectivity to the Exchange Server?
