need help on writing remote access program

I'm doing a project that needs to write a client/server program for Win2K server, so I can remotely extend it's dynamic disk volume from a client machine. Any help or info on where to find help would be greatly appreciated.
Also, does anyone know if I can extend the dynamic disk without using the GUI, i.e. can I do it with command line?
