We are running CP FWZ-1 4.0 and we have three subnets on our network.

172.17.17.0
172.17.18.0
172.17.16.0

The Firewall is dual NIC with one external card, and the internal card is on the 172.17.17.0 subnet. Everything on the 172.17.17.0 subnet can get out to the external gateway through the firewall. But the other two subnets cannot ping the firewall at all. They can ping all through the network right up to the Cisco Router that is connected to the FW. Can someone please provide some insight as to why the other two networks cannot see the FW. The firewall cannot see them and they cannot see the firewall. We have rules properly ?? applied for those subnets and the routers are running RIP correctly.
Thanks

I am not 100% sure, bu tI had the same problem last year and I beleive there is a configuration option where there FW itself will not reply to pings. This is a security feature and puts the FW in stealth mode.

Hope this helps,

D

We enabled that and the 17.17 network can use it. We are trying to create a routing table and see if that helps. Thanks for you help
