I have a situation with a Windows 2000 machine where it has two Network cards in it. One card is connected to a seperate door controller the other is connected to our network.

The problem I am having is if on this client I try to ping any machines on our network, or even trying to connect to our file server using the machine name, it just doesnt do anything. Its like the machine freezes up. I think maybe what is happening is it using the Network card not connected to our network to do the said functions.

Is there any way I can set / check to see if this is the problem. How would I go about correcting it ?

Kind regards
John

Post the outputs of the following commands from the W2K machine for analysis:

ipconfig /all
route print

This is the quickest way to resolve this issue.
