Is there any way to disable leaving messages in a persons mailbox via the MAS?

Reroute your VDN to a maintenance vector...?

That's what we do when we're experiencing problems with our MM environment.

Do you off-line storage enabled to your MAS'? This would allow callers to leave messages on the MAS when the MSS is down, and then would synch up after restoration of the MSS...

Thanks,

can you go into some detail on how you set this up? I have 1 MSS and your idea sounds like a pretty good workaround in case of an issue.

First STEP:
*Create a maintenance announcement*

Then you need to change a few things...

For Coverage Path:
1.) add a new vector
01 wait-time 2 secs hearing silence
02 disconnect after announcement 3434343 (Maintenance Message)

2.) add a new VDN and point it to the new vector
3.) change your main coverage path that goes to VM. If you have h99 as point 1 make it point 2.
4.) Make point 1 in your coverage vX (x being the new VDN you created)...

For Voicemail Access:
1.) add a new vector
2.) change hunt group 99 (or whatever hunt group your VM is)
2a.) change the group extension to an unassigned extension
3.) add VDN (use the original hunt group number you just removed)
4.) point the VDN to the vector that you built above

Then reverse the steps when voicemail has been restored...

Thanks,
98C
