My Publisher keeps freezing up. I clicked on "send error report" and then it showed me a link that would tell me about my problem. The link said that I am running a DEMO version of Publisher! I AM NOT! This is a full version which I have been using for the past 2 to 3 years with no problem thus far. WHAT IS WRONG and HOW can I fix it?!

Specifically what does the error message say?

OKay, so I want to fix this problem so I opened up the program and tried again so I could get more details for this post.

I am trying to make a postcard. I open the program. I have a postcard started. The problem occurs after I click on "Insert Picture > from Clip Art". At that point, the menu bar at the top of the adding clip art area turns orange, I lost my cursor when I am over any area of Publisher, and the program freezes.

I use CTRL-ALT-DEL to get to Task Manager and that shows the program as "running" but it is frozen. I click on "End Task" and then it says that the program is not responding and I click on "End Now".

The next message pops up saying I have chosen to end the nonresponsive program. It says I can click to get details of the problem. The "details" are two lines which both start with C:\DOCUME~1\COMPAQ~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\WER9a31.dir00\ but one ends with MSPUB.EXE.mdmp and the other one ends with appcompat.txt.

Then, the next box that comes up after I close that one out says to please tell Microsoft about this problem. I click on that and I am told that I can click on this link to see how to prevent the problem in the future:
The link tells me I am running a trial or demo version. I am NOT. I am running a FULL version, 2003, which I installed from original disks at least 3 years ago.

I don't have Pub 2003 installed on this system so I'm going to wing it. Check under Help - and see if there's an Activate Product (or something like that). If so, click on it and see if it prompts you for your product key or says it's already activated.

Can you do anything else in Publisher? Can you insert clipart in Word or Excel? Have you changed anything on your system lately?
