Hi There,

I did some search on the forum and did not find the issue i am encountering, please pardon me and redirect if my search was not thorough enough. Here is my issue:

When I click to edit a new mail in Outlook 2003, the new mail message is grouped into Words 2003 grouping instead of Outlook grouping. This occurs after i reinstalled Words. Before reinstallation of Words, the grouping is with the Outlook 2003 grouping. Any idea how i can revert the grouping order without reinstalling Outlook? There is a lot of cached information in Outlook i cannot loose.

Appreciate any help.

What do you mean by "Words grouping". (I assume you mean Microsoft Word but maybe you're talking about some sort of keyword.)

Do you mean by attachments perhaps?

Hi JP,

Thanks for noticing this. I do not have screen shot as the user is busy with customer almost all the time. Was i mean is, the "new message" taskbar is grouped together with the MS Words taskbar instead of in the MS Outlook taskbar . I did a check on a test machine with similar operating environment, but the "new message" taskbar is group together with the MS Outlook taskbar.

Hope you can offer me some advise.Thanks.

If you (or your user) have Outlook set to use Word as editor, then it is Word that is running when viewing or editing mail and, if taskbar icons are grouped, the Word windows will all be grouped together - the 'real' Word ones and the Outlook controlled-ones. I don't think there is anything you can do about this.

However, I don't do this and no longer have Outlook 2003 installed anywhere to check, so there may be a setting I don't know about. When you have tested this on your machine, do you have Outlook set to use Word as editor?

Enjoy,
Tony

Hi,

Sorry for delayed reply, was messing with VB7 and Excel last whole week...phew...

My laptop is having outlook 2007 which group new mail compose together with the outlook taskbar. My user claim the new mail compose on outlook 2003 was together with outlook initially till I did a reinstall of MS words.

Thanks for ur insight though. Any other comments appreciated.
