I have a ms 6787 motherboard and currently i'm using the onboard 32/64mb S3 Savagepro card, however i have a 2400Pro HD Ati card and when i plug it in, i get no post, i can boot up just fine onboard but when i plug in that AGP i can't get anything.. any suggestions, i've tried changing the bios and disabling the s3 in Device Manager... HELP :(

Are you able to confirm that the AGP card is working, by plugging it into another machine?

this could indicate a bad gfx card, test the card in another computer (friends or have it tested in a shop)...

it also could be that the card is not getting enough power, are there extra power connectors on the card and have you hooked up power to it?

if the above are no answer, then suspect a bad or incompatible AGP port...

Simple case of incompatibility!
Your rather old Via KM266 chipset based motherboard only has a 4X AGP slot so only supports 2X/4X AGP graphics cards....this much newer graphics card will almost definately be 8X AGP (lower voltage than 2X/4X)
Whatever you replace the 2400Pro with, it either needs to be 4X AGP or one of the earlier 8X AGP cards that had switched voltage when plugged into a 4X slot.
From memory that was Nvidia 2/3/4 and some 5 series cards and ATI's upto the 9000 series.
I doubt wether you can buy anything new that works...this is something you will have to source second hand.

The card was working fine in my 4x AGP on my other mother board but i got this and it has the 3 ghz vs my older 1.2 ghz -.- so i really was hoping to get this board to work...
no there are no other power slots on the card except for a two pringer for a fan also the 8x card on the 4x board just is like using a 100 V wire for a 200 V source, only SOME of evertyhing is used.. bad example... okay idk but the other board works fine on, if i had a choice i would rather keep the 3 ghz because yeah, obvious also they're differnet sockets so i can't just Take processor to other board which is... *looks* AM37...? thats what i found.... hmm thanks though paparazi

Yeah...unfortunately one is Intel Socket 478 and the other AMD Socket 462.
There are many times that hardware will work in a particular setup and other times when they won't. I'm sure this is incompatibility and just one of those things you are going to get when fitting a three year old graphics card to a nine year old motherboard.
AGP 2X 3.3volt slot
AGP 4X 1.5volt slot
AGP 8X 0.8volt slot
Some GPU's could tollerate or had switching mechanisms when going backwards (fitted in an older slot type with higher voltage)but there were lots of incompatibilities as well.
