Hi All,

I have around 40k folders with the name as 1...40k, inside a parent folder(x). I want them to be moved into sub folders. I create some 100 folders inside the parent folder(x) and each of these folders have the 40k folders divided among them depending on the folders name, like folder x1 will have 1-500 folders and folder x2 will have 501-1000 folders and so on.

one way to do this task is by using browse compass in advanced search and sorting the search results and selecting the display as 500 folders per page and using mark all and the action to move, but I cannot use this approach, please suggest any other approach to resolve this.

Thanks in advacne!

use a tool such as lapi, web services or oscript or even web reports...

check in See the Want to delete a bunch of childless(empty) folders in livelink
It is a C# executable calling delete if you can understand that you can do move as well.

or if you have old livelink webdav mount the folder as drives and see if you can use windows file copy
very inefficient but if you can get webdav to work should work for you

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?
