I hope i'm posting this in the right place! :$

For months we had about 45 clients connecting to a Terminal Server (we'll call it TS2). We recently moved half our employees (the ones that are offsite) to another Terminal Server(TS1). Since they started connecting to TS1 we've had issues with clients still on TS2 being unable to use their mouse cursor within document bodies. We've only noticed the issue within Outlook and Word. Clients who connect to this server can't hightlight text, or click on anything inside the document body, however the menus and toolbars function fine. It's like the mouse buttons become void once they enter the document body. In Outlook it only happens when you're creating a new email.. if you're reading an email that you've received, you can highlight the text and everything.

I came across a document that mentioned renaming the "normal.dot" file to a .old extension hoping that Word wouldn't find the template and create a new one.. thus defaulting all the settings but had no luck.

This is a little strange. Before, when everyone was connecting to TS2, everything worked fine. This is a pretty recent development. TS2 ran with all the users on it for over 6 months before we cut it's client load in half. Before that, we hadn't ever seen this issue.

I'm lost.. i'm trying to avoid re-installing Office, however i could stay late and do it after hours. Any ideas? Has anyone run into this before? Any help is much appreciated!

Thanks!

Should i just re-install Office then?

when you are focused on a message/text body......does the mouse cursor still apear, i mean is it vissible, it just doesn't have any action on the clicks?

Hope this Helps.

You know.. we finally got it fixed. We ended up just deleting the users profiles and re-creating them. With 50+ employees it was easier to back up favorites and start new profiles than to ask everyone to get out of office and re-install it on the terminal servers. The cursor did show up though, yes, but it was like clicking was pointless, neither mouse button would do anything..

I appreciate the help! Thanks!
