My monitor always makes one or more ticking noises when changing resolutions or turning on and off, this just doesn't seem normal, and sometimes after changing resolutions the screen is off center. I have a Sony HMD A400 monitor that is about a year and a half old, is this normal, or should I worry about it?

Mine used to do it as well...it didn't seem to change the performance at all.
Has it always done this or is this a new development?
If the screen is off centre you may not have a video adapter that can handle the resolution you have set it to...or the monitor isnt handling the higher resolution.
Unless you have a specific need for the higher res..you can try it lower and see if it still does the same thing.
