I have a piece of equipment used for Music On Hold that I can't identify what it is. We are using a Bogen Prohold, which connects to this unknow piece (Lucent Model KS-23395L4) connecting into voice coupler or Normal port going out of the system 25 port to an analog port. Anyone know the offical name for this part or if a newer piece of equipmetn exsists. What exactly does ti do? Change the recording from digital to analog?

Thanks,
Jeff

It's nothing that fancy. I've heard it referred most commonly as a Merlin MOH coupler. It just couples and RCA plug to an RJ-11. The unit also includes a 600 Ohm resistor and a gain adjustment screw for adjusting the MOH input. -CL

I think I found it. I believe it is a Music-on-hold adapter/coupler. What it's purpose for I'm still unsure other than possbly a digital to analog converter.

I've never been able to connect audio directly to the station port so I thought the Music Coupler was a matching transformer.

If anyone has been sucessful in connecting music to the PBX w/o the need for the music coupler, let me know.

I just used a set of cross connect cables and punched one end down on the MOH port in the switch, the other ends were stripped and plugged into the CD player / boombox speaker ports.

SJ just add a 100ohm/1 WATT resistor or handset receiver(which will act as a resistor)parellely. You will get a good loud music.
