It finds the memory and CPU with no problem.
It then states that an Emulex BIOS is disabled (normal statement).

It then finds the 5300 array controller and both logical drives, then states that no other SCSI devices are found.

Then the cursor just blinks and the server goes no further.
The arrow lights on the drives of array A are on but the server will not go any further.

I replaced two bad fans and also replaced the SCSI controller. I am about to replace the scsi cables as well.

Does any have any ideas on what could be wrong??

I am guessing that it does not come up with the F10 prompt to enter SmartStart either? Can the server actually boot off the SmartStart CD ok?

Also, check the Boot order and ensure the 5300 Array controller is first.

No - it never gets to the F10 prompt. Even when I remove all cards it gets to searching for scsi devices....no scsi devices present (which is correct).

then the blinking cursor...

Can you believe it? Replaced the CD-Rom and the server boots up with no problem!

And I works on this for 4-1/2 hours!! lol
