I was wondering if there was a way to keep from the voice mail wanting you to set up personal conatct numbers when you first log into the mail box?

When I first get in it wants to change password , then record name for company directory, then greeting. After that it allows you to set up personal conatct numbers so others can reach you.. I assume does this use routing to make that happen?

this is because you have 'advanced voicemail' active in the licensing and unfortunately, you cannot switch this off.

Cannot be turned off.

Personal contact numbers allow the user to define transfer to external (or internal) numbers via single digit access.

Using contact numbers 2,3 or 7 will automatically generate a prompt to callers to press the digit for the assigned function (Cell, Fax, and Pager)

If a user turns it on by mistake or want to modify it access is via the Mailbox - Press 8-2-2

Cool... another question if you don't mind. !!! I have learned alot by you.. thanks a bunch.

So.. I have one user that has two ext on one phone because he answeres calls for two different companies.. Is there a way for that second ext to dump into his 1st ext vm box without having two different mailboxes?

Right now I have the second ext built with vm and then put a message waiting indicator key on the phone to advise that he has a message in that mail box. If I didn't do that then he really couldnt tell which mail box had the voice mail in it.

Just didn't know if I could have that second ext associated in the 1st ext vm box.
I know I can do it in the Nortel world..just wasnt sure with this Mitel
Hope that makes sense.

You can override the integration of the second line and force the call into a specific mailbox.

I'm not sure I would recommend it though, but here's the simplest method.

Prime line = 1111 with mailbox 1111 - No changes
Second Line = 2222

Create Nametag Huntgroup *1111 (with star in front). or if the *XXXX conflicts with an existing number or feature, you can use #XXXX.

Use Always routing (Day/N1/N2) to route *1111 to VM on an immediate basis.

Create a First Alternative Routing to send calls to *1111

Route the Second Line (2222) to *1111 on 1st Alternative.

Calls to 2222 on NA/Busy will end up in mailbox 1111
