I have inherited a 3300 MXe and I have noticed that on hold or transfer callers receive stony silence. I noticed they had no music and I attempted to load a .wav file to the system and kept getting invalid path errors (though it is the same path and procedure I have used on past systems)

Assuming the customer doesn't want MOH, where in the system do I go and define what audio I want callers to hear on hold or on transfer?

Thanks, Jim

For a yet unexplained reason to me, you need to store all files on your computer in C:\fakepath before importing them (wether they be .wav for MOH or CSV files). This will solve your path error problem.

I think it started behaving like that with the ESM java applet since 4.0 or 4.1.

So, the example you get of C:\fakepath is actually more that an example?...lol...very cool...I'll have to try that

Any ideas on the audio choices for transfer or hold if they don't want MOH? (MOH is NO in system options at the moment)

the fakepath solution came with IE8

Mitel only allows On Hold audio via a .wav file.

What that .wav file contains is entirely up to you. Anything from beeps to primal screaming.

(I'm assuming it's the M in MOH that your customer doesn't want)

Lol...personally, I like the primal screaming...but I guess I'll go with something more civilized...

Thanks kwbMitel and InterTechNP for the cool answers.

Just upload a file with ringing in it.....or even a beep beep silence beep beep...you get the idea....

C:\fakepath allowed me to upload my file and now they can enjoy grunts and primal screaming (thanks for the tip, kwb) instead of silence...

Thanks for all the good replies, boys.

Right click on the file and make sure it U Law and not PCM. Also needs to be in 8K Hz format. If it in the wrong format then the Mitel wont let you upload the file.

Thanks phonefix...good to know for future...
