I have a customer who activated/ installed the Minuet ACD in his 4.0 NAM. He did not check to see if F920 - F 923 were free and NOT active. He just installed it.
Now, F981, F983 etc. Are not available. They simply say 'inactive feature'.

How can I direct him to correct this. Also, if before installing the ACD you go into F * * XFTEST and see that F920 (for instance) is active. How do you change that code to be something else?

Thanks in advance....

MR,
Some thoughts...
If your customer's system is a standard setup with one NAM serving one KSU, th

Hummph?

Anyhoo, a hard reset of the voicemail seems to have cleared the problem with my tech but I would still like to know how to change say... the ACCESS2 server Feature code. (if I had to)

Anybody?
Thanks

have you done a reboot on the voice mail try to log in under the feature 915 password Access2 and do a gracefull shut down. Then wait until you hear the system sing and try the feature codes again.
Hope this helps

This is one of the first things you should do when installing Minuet. Determine if the Codes 920 thru 923 are used. See the book on changing feature codes.

To change the feature codes for Minuet you do the following.

1. F9*7,
2. Password 1234
3. select NEXT three times
4. F920 configuration code is displayed. If the code to change is another feature code just select next until it is displayed.
You can change this to another unused Feature code. You determine an unused code with F**XFTEST.

Okay, well, I got the part on what he SHOULD have done but the changing feature code part is what I needed. Thanks.

So you cannot change the ACCESS2 Server code. If it is for instance F920 then I would go into F9*7k and change F920 to something unused. Yes?

Thanks
Melissa

MR,
Hmph! Agree. Seems my last post was cut off way short. This has happened before. ??
Access2 access is F915. F920 is a minuet Fcode which can be changed under admin maint F9*7.
F915 appears to be the only code that can't be changed. But there should be lots of choices between Vmail high range codes (9*1) and low range codes (9*5). If these codes are already in use then Norstar will assign codes somewhere in the 900-999 range but not always sequencially. I think XFTEST will show which codes are being used. To change the high/low Fcode usage of the Vmail, the Vmail must be reinitialized. Fortunately it is a NAM and will have backup and restore capability.

Thanks!
Yeah, that's what I was getting at.... The ACCESS2 feature code (it's not always F915) cannot be changed but going into the F9*7 can change the Minuet codes should the two clash.

Thanks again,
Mroberts

MR,
Have you observed the Access2 Fcode to have changed often from F915? Probably it auto assigns if F915 is in use elswhere. ? Do you need parts of the Minuet manual?

PhM

No thank you. I do have the manual.
Sometimes the code will change when doing channel upgrades or when you have to replace the drive, it will change.

I just needed the F9*7. That's all.

Thanks
