Does anybody know when or if mircosoft have released the server version of XP.

If so how easily is it to install and run.

Or

When is it being released.

My understanding is that the server versions of Whistler won't be called "XP" but it seems like MS has wavered back & forth on this.

Probably something like a ".Net Server family" when released.

These are in beta right now. I guess I need to hunt up more info myself.

Hmm.

Just answered a survey on the MS beta site that referred to "Windows XP .Net Server Edition."

I've installed (and have been running for about 2 weeks now) Beta3 of .NET Server, Standard Edition.

It's a piece of cake to install, and has many of XP's GUI design features. A bit garish for my taste, but at least .NET is more restrained than XP in the graphical front.

There are a fair number of new features - especially to the Terminal Services, and some useful new command-line tools.

There's some good info here;
