Micros Simphony Question

I have a customer who owns 3 restaurants and needs a POS system. I have found a used micros simphony that I think is about 10 years old.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to manage all systems remotely through the internet with this system, set up items, menus, etc.? Also can it run without a server at the locations?

run away from Simphony. You will just make your like hell.
You can do all that from EMC but I would not recomend

Why not just go new. New comes with support from whatever POS you go with, new features, PCI certification if needed and equipment that is under warranty vs something that might be on its last legs.
